The position has been advertised as fixed-term for 18 months, pending the implementation of the new financial system.

The position is located within the Council’s Finance and Transformation Service. The post holder will lead the General Accounting team providing effective customer focussed support for a range of finance related functions: the accounts payable function, purchase cards, salary sacrifice schemes, appointeeship and deputyship client management, carer payments and general accounting functions.

The activity will be delivered in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Service delivery targets to support the smooth running of the Council and relevant external organisations. 

This post holder will contribute to the overall success of the Finance and Transformation Service by being accurate, efficient and customer focussed. The post holder will ensure that all functions operate in compliance with legislation, Council policy, procedures and process flow whilst contributing to improving the performance of the service.  

The Council offers flexible working arrangements in terms of when and where people work e.g., hybrid working, part-time, condensed hours etc.
