JNC 13/14  £29,606 to £30,750 (pro rata).
Fixed Term until March 2025 due to funding.

The Youth Development Service (Early Help) has a small outreach and street-based team to work with young people at risk of making poor life choices.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled youth worker to join the team, who can help support vulnerable groups of young people around the city.

As part of the Violence Prevention Partnership programme delivery, you will work independently as a small team and also contribute to a multi-agency approach who will identify and support young people.

You will provide engaging activities and support increasing confidence, self-esteem and resilience.  Thus enabling more positive choices and diverting young people away from crime, anti-social behaviour, exploitation and vulnerabilities.  You will intervene in their lives to enable them to gain improved outcomes and engage in positive activities and education/learning.

You will link up with other services and projects within the city such as Youth Justice, Community Safety, Social Care, Flipside and Reach Out projects etc to ensure a co-ordinated and effective approach but also contributing to individual plans.

You will work flexibly to meet the needs of young people which will include increasing their voice and influence, engagement with the family and working evenings and planned time within holiday periods and occasional weekend sessions. It is expected that the successful worker can work two or three evening sessions per week with afternoon or teatime sessions complimenting these.

The successful candidates will be qualified and or experienced youth workers working with young people qualified at NVQ L3 or above and have experience of engaging positively with young people and planning work with them which improves their lives.
