🌟 Personal Assistant (PA)/Industrial Relations (IR) Secretary 🌟

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to join our Organisation Development (OD) and Human Resources (HR) Team to provide PA/IR secretarial support to the Assistant Director OD & HR and the wider OD/HR Management Team.

This role is varied and the postholder will be engaged in a wide range of administrative activities – no two days will be the same! You must be able to work pro-actively, using your own initiative in anticipating priorities for the AD, whilst exercising close attention to detail with a methodical and professional approach to tasks. Excellent use of the suite of Microsoft Office tools is essential as is previous experience of diary management which is key to this role along with ensuring the AD is suitably organised and prepared for meetings.

You will work with a range of officers both internally and externally to the council, including Elected Members and with Trade Union Colleagues and therefore must be comfortable talking to people at all levels of the organisation. This role is required to lead in managing the Council’s corporate industrial relations framework, with Trade Union colleagues, which requires, but not limited to, the arranging of meetings along with the production of accurate minutes of meetings.

You must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally and deal sensitively with often complex enquires and complaints ensuring that you always maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
