Sections of the road have already been damaged, caused by excessive use from lorries entering and leaving the Jacksons site. If the new gates or turnstiles mean lorries will be using a different entrance or exit, then other sections of the road are going to be damaged. Some of the existing damage is outside of residential properties which makes it difficult for some disabled residents to access vehicles, as cars are having to park away from peoples homes to avoid damaged sections of the road. If lorries are going to be pulling out of Crystal Street then protective measures, such as bollards should be put in place to prevent and new damage to the roads. The objector has COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), so she has to keep her windows closed because of the air pollution caused by vehicles entering and leaving Jacksons. Noise pollution from Jacksons has already caused some of the nearby residents move from their front bedrooms to their back bedrooms. The new gates and turnstiles would result in excessive traffic on Derringham Street. If lorries start using the Crystal Street entrance then headlights would shine into properties on the other side of the road.
