Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG)

The Government announced the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG) for businesses who have been impacted by the rise of the Omicron variant. This grant scheme provides support to businesses within the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors who provide in-person services.

The support being provided is a one-off grant award with the following thresholds:

  • £2,667 businesses with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under
  • £4,000 businesses with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000
  • £6,000 businesses with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or over

  • You can find your rateable value of your premises on your latest business rates bill.

    Eligible businesses must occupy properties appearing on the non-domestic rating list and be registered to pay business rates on the 30 December 2021.

    Definition of the types of business that can apply are:

  • Hospitality
    A hospitality business is defined as a business whose main function is to provide a venue for the consumption and sale of food and drink.

  • Accommodation
    An accommodation business is defined as a business whose main lodging provision is used for holiday, travel and other purposes.

  • Leisure
    A leisure business is defined as a business that provides opportunities, experiences and facilities, in particular for culture, recreation, entertainment, celebratory events and days and nights out.

  • You can find your rateable value of your premises on your latest business rates bill.

    Applications must be submitted by the 18 March 2022.
