Biomass

Associated British Ports (ABP) has a number of prime development sites which are ideally placed for companies looking to develop biomass power generations projects.

To compliment these sites ABP has applied for a harbour revision order to secure the necessary permissions to construct a new deep-water berth, located adjacent to Queen Elizabeth Dock.  The Hull Riverside Bulk Terminal will handle imported biomass fuel and other dry bulks for customers and will be capable of handling ships up to 300m in length.

Reality Energy Centre

Real Ventures Ltd has been granted planning permission to build a power station at the Port of Hull. The plant will produce 49MW of green energy using sustainably sourced biomass fuel.   Up to 250 jobs will be created during the construction phase and the Reality Energy Centre is expected to employ 35 people when fully operational in 2015.
