City Arts Unit

The City Arts Unit, the council's arts development service, supports, encourages and develops creative people and organisations. Located in Hull Central Library, we work with independent arts providers in the city to improve cultural opportunities.

Maggie Hannan

Festival Director

Maggie Hannan was born in 1962 and has lived in Hull since 1991. Director of the Humber Mouth Literature Festival since 2002, she works within City Arts Unit as Literature Outreach & Development Co-ordinator.

Colin Hurst

Festival Assistant

Colin Hurst was born in 1978 and has worked with the festival since 2006. Colin works on a freelance basis with several arts organisations, including The Phillip Larkin Society, and has provided a bookstall service for Reading River events.
