You can appeal against a council tax decision, when -
we are charging you council tax and you do not think that you are the person who should pay
you think you should get a discount and we are not giving you one, or we are not giving you the correct amount of discount
you think your property should be exempt from council tax.

What happens next
We will look at your appeal and let you know our decision as soon as we can. If you are still not happy with this decision, you can appeal to the Valuation Tribunal.
The Valuation Tribunal
The Valuation Tribunal is not part of the council. If you decide to appeal, you will be able to tell the tribunal about your case and we will be able to say why we have made our decision. The tribunal will decide whether our decision is right.
