Supplementary planning guidance

Supplementary planning guidance is agreed at the same time as the local plan. It sets out basic design principles for applicants to follow and for us to use as standards when we judge planning applications.

In the future, we are likely to produce guidance on:

• managing city centre nighttime activity
• waste recycling provision requirements
• telecommunications.

Other adopted planning guidance includes the Heartlands policy plan which sets out a long-term framework and vision for part of the city's River Hull corridor.
