Collection

A waste management officer will contact your business to give you a quote for the removal of your trade bulky items.

We collect household bulky items from homes via an appointment system - this lets us advise customers of their scheduled appointment date and day.

All normal household items are collected free of charge, but a charge is made for DIY waste.

White goods

All white goods, including fridge freezers, are collected separately from other bulky items because they contain hazardous elements. Collecting them separately also makes it easier for us to recycle them. Because they are collected separately, any requests for a  general bulky item collection, which includes the request to collect a fridge, may receive two appointments.

Items will be collected from within the boundary of the property, and you should tell us the location of the items (front/back garden, garage, drive for example). Items should be accessible from 7.30am on their scheduled appointment day.

Access

If your wheeled bin is presented in a tenfoot, bulky items should be presented in your front garden to enable our vehicle to gain access. If, at the time of collection, access is not gained to the items for any reason, we will leave a customer response card, stating the time and date of the call. If you still require the collection of the items, you must telephone the number on the card to re-schedule the appointment.

Other disposal options

Another option for disposing of your unwanted household items would be to take them to one of our household waste and recycling centres, located at Burma Drive, Wilmington, Sutton Fields and Wiltshire Road.
