You can pay your business rates using any of the methods detailed below. You will need your business rates eight-digit reference number, which starts with 6. You can find the number on your bill or Swipecard.
Online internet payments
Business rates can be paid online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.

 | Monthly direct debit payments
Business rates can be paid by 10 monthly instalments collected on the first and 15th day of each month.

 | Bankers order / standing order payments (BACS)
Business rates can be paid by bankers order / standing order using the following details -
- bank sort code: 62-24-11
- bank account number: 00000000 (8 zeros)
- paid to: Hull City Council
You will need to quote your eight-digit business rates reference number (starting with 6) preceded by 0000220000 to make up an 18 digit reference number.
Please note, telephone banking and internet banking arrangements can be set up direct with your bank or on your own banks' internet site.

 | Swipecard payments
Business rates can be paid using a Hull City Council Swipecard at -
- any post office in the UK (cash or cheque)
- any PayPoint outlet in the UK (cash only)
- council offices listed below (see counter payments)
To apply for a Swipecard (or to replace a lost Swipecard) telephone 01482 300 300 or text phone 01482 300 349.
Swipecards hold business rates reference numbers only and no other account details.

 | Telephone payments
You can pay your business rates via the telephone on 01482 300 300. The automated service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.
Text phone customers can pay by calling the call centre on 01482 300 349 from 8am till 7pm, Monday to Friday and 9am till 1pm on Saturdays. Please note that the automated payments system is not text phone compatible.
Please note, you will need to have your credit or debit card, account details and a pen and paper available when you call. Callers will be quoted a unique receipt number for each payment.
Postal payments
Business rates can be paid by post to -

Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Kingston upon Hull City Council and you should write your account reference number on the back of your cheque or postal order.
Please note, cash should only be sent in registered envelopes.
