Day care centres

There are a number of day care centres in Hull for older people or people with physical disabilities. Day care centres aim to improve health and well being, and promote activities to stimulate physical and mental health and fitness.

Day care centres offer you the opportunity to meet other people and take part in new activities. They help you maintain your independence, social inclusion and links with the community. They also allow your carer or family to have some time for themselves.

All centres specialise in assisting people with specific needs such as physical disability, learning disabilities, dementia or frail older people.

Our centres provide day support by way of personal care and activities which are usually part of a package of care after an assessment. You can go to a day care centre for a few hours or the entire day.

We (Hull City Council) run the centres and all our staff are trained to a high standard in care.

Costs for day care

There is no charge for day care although there is a charge for lunch, refreshments and some activities. You can use your personal budget to pay for any expenses.
