Older people's day

Older people’s day is a national event taking place on Monday 1 October. To celebrate older people’s day, citywide events and activities are being held for anyone over 55.

The aim of older people’s day is to help people think differently about older people and challenge stereotypes.

This year’s UK older people’s day is about sharing the skills and experience between different generations. We want to celebrate the contribution older people make in our communities and how they can get involved in activities.

You can download our list of activities available to over 55s below.
