Catchment schools
Some secondary schools in Hull have catchment areas - a geographical boundary used to ensure that all schools in an area have a fair share of pupils. Catchment schools are all community schools.
Living in the catchment area of a school gives your child a higher priority for admission at that school than those living outside the area. You are strongly recommended that your catchment school is one of the schools named on your application form.

If you are unsure which is your catchment area school, please contact the admissions team on 01482 300 300.
Let your child have a say
Your child may have thoughts and opinions which you might want to take into account when deciding your preferences.
Distance to the school
Most parents want their children to attend their nearest school (for example their catchment school). You can apply to more distant schools, however you should consider the effects that long journeys can have on a child and also consider the availability of transport.
