Get Clued up for free city summer events - 26/07/2012
Summer in Hull will be crammed with lots of fun and action packed events for everyone to enjoy.
On top of all the many different activities taking place across Hull, Hull City Council also has some fantastic free city events as part of its Clued up for summer programme.
Kick starting the city events is Play Day on 1 August in Queens Gardens, which will be transformed into an outdoor playground for children and young people and parents to come and have fun.
Then on Sunday 19 August, families can have some 'wheely' good fun together as Sky Ride Hull, a mass participation bike event, comes back to the city centre for a second year.
Big Bus Day on 1 September will see buses old and new come to the city's Museums Quarter with lots of fun for the whole family.
On 7 September the Freedom Festival will see a packed programme of live music and events including a spectacular travelling dance hall from the 1900s, comedy, children's theatre and activities plus music and cabaret shows.
Councillor Terry Geraghty, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said:
"We have many really fantastic events happening across the city offering great things to do for all. I'm pleased that we've also got these excellent events taking place in the city centre and hope that it will make it a memorable summer for people."
