Victorious Vikings marks start of Summer holiday events - 16/07/2012
Victorious Vikings takes place this Saturday (21 July) and promises to be a fun-filled family event featuring all things Viking!
Come face-to face with Viking warriors between 11am and 4pm in the Museums Quarter of Hull. People can meet Viking families to find out how they lived, and learn about some of the objects they made and used. You can also make your own Viking brooch or sword to take home.
Vikings will spa in the arena before adults and children have the chance to challenge them in battle using brightly coloured shields and swords!
There will also be Time Troopers craft activity for children under 16, accompanied by an adult or guardian.
This is the first of a wide variety of free events offering fun and creative activities to keep you occupied during the summer holidays, hosted by Hull City Council's Museums.

Tuesday 24 July, 11am - 1pm - In Touch with… WW2
Meet a character from wartime Britain. Discover what life on the home front was like during the Second World War by handling original artefacts.

Wednesday 25 July, 11am - 1pm - Make your own UFO
Make your own UFO or space machine!

Thursday 26 July, 11am - 1pm - In Touch with… Whaling
Meet Mrs Pickwick, a whaler's wife and hear her captivating stories about Hull's whaling past!

Sunday 29 July, 1.30pm - 4.30pm - Yorkshire Morgan Club rally
A great chance to see legendary hand built British sports cars in detail
Museums Quarter
Tuesday 31 July, 11am - 1pm In Touch with… The Victorians
Meet a Victorian Housekeeper and see if you've got what it takes to become an Under Butler or Scullery Maid. Find out about life 'below stairs' in a Victorian stately home and handle historical objects from the period.
