Council seeks residents' views for tenancy changes - 11/07/2012
Hull City Council is inviting residents to give their views to help shape a new tenancy strategy and to update tenancy policies.
A drop in session for residents to have their say is being held at the Guildhall on Tuesday 17, from 12 noon until 7pm.
If you attend the event your views will be used to help inform the council as it develops its new tenancy strategy for Hull and council tenancy policy, as well as making changes to the lettings policy.
At the event residents can give their views on a number of important issues, which include:
whether there should be changes to tenancies for new tenants
who they think should be able to succeed to a tenancy following a tenant's death
whether new tenants should be provided with a fixed-term tenancy rather than a tenancy for life
whether councils should charge different rents in some circumstances which may be higher and use the extra money to, for example, provide new housing
whether new tenants should be restricted to property sizes for which they can claim housing benefit
Residents will also have the opportunity to comment on our new homelessness delivery plan.
If you decide to attend, you will be given background information to help you give us your views and officers will be available on the day to discuss the issues with you.
If you'd like to have your say but can't make it on July 17, please call 01482 300 300 and ask for the Tenant Participation Team or email Tenant.resident@hullcc.gov.uk
