Nicola Yates OBE - 06/07/2012
Hull City Council's Chief Executive, Nicola Yates, will be leaving the Council with effect from 8 July 2012.

Nicola was appointed as Chief Executive in November 2009 and has guided the council through a period of considerable change in a challenging economic climate. Notable achievements during this time have included:

  • Enhancing the profile of Hull City Council both regionally and nationally
  • Delivering a major financial and operational re-structure of the Council whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Bringing significant regeneration to the city and leading a 'Green City' agenda, including the prospect of investment from major manufacturing international companies
  • Ensuring sensitivity in relation to the delivery of those services that affect the most vulnerable in our city

Leader of Hull City Council , Councillor Stephen Brady, said:

'I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nicola for her time, hard work and dedication to Hull and the Council. I wish her all the best in the future.'

Departing Chief Executive Nicola Yates thanked the leader for his good wishes and said:

"My role as Chief Executive of Hull City Council has been enjoyable and challenging and I wish the Council, its staff and the city the very best in the years ahead."
