Budding book groups talk about what they read - 12/06/2012
If you're an avid reader and share your views on the books you read then why not come along to Hull City Council's free reading groups at Central Library.
There are two general fiction reading groups that get together and share their thoughts about a chosen title. They take place on the first Monday of the month at 2.30 - 3.45pm and on third the third Wednesday of the month at 6 - 7.15pm.
In addition to this, there is a crime reading group that meet on the second Monday of the month at 7pm, and a science fiction and fantasy group which also meets on the second Monday of the month at 7pm.
Hattie Johnson, Librarian at Central Library, said:
"These free reading groups are a good opportunity to meet new people as well as talking about the books they enjoy reading."
Kath Beal, who attends the reading groups said:
"If you like reading and talking about what you have read then a reading group is the place for you. Since joining a reading group at the Central Library I've read a wonderful wide range of books. I discovered works by authors whose books I might have missed out on without the group, re read old favourites and heard a multitude of views from other members as to what constitutes a 'good read'.
"The groups are friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome but don't take my word for it, please come and see for yourself."
You can turn up to any of the reading groups at Central Library, there is no need to book.
