Hull's green fingered residents can enter this year's Hull in Bloom competition to give the city a shot at ultimately claiming the coveted title of Britain in Bloom.
With the closing date on Friday 29 June (entries after this date will not be considered), gardeners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to submit their entries for the city-wide competition in the following categories:
- best contribution to wildlife
- best display by a public house
- best display by a commercial organisation
- best garden
- best planted container or hanging basket
- best allotment garden
- best display by a community group
- best display by a school
Councillor Terry Geraghty, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said:
"The competition is open to all residents, schools, community groups, allotment holders, public houses and commercial premises within the city boundary and we want as people as possible to get involved. We had a fantastic response last year and is a great way to show off your gardening skills."
For entries making it to the next round, city-wide judging takes place between 13 and 20 July.
