Hull City Council will be adding 40,000 stickers to our city's lampposts over the summer months to inform residents how to report broken streetlights.
The stickers will remind residents to report lamppost defects by calling 01482 300 300, and, as an alternative for people who has a smartphone they can use the Quick Response code (QR code) that will direct residents to Hull City Council's streetlighting web page which includes a reporting form. This will help us to carry out prompt repairs.
Councillor Martin Mancey, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Transport and Emergency Planning, said:
"We are adding stickers to the streetlights in preparation for when the darker nights start in autumn. I would like to thank the public for helping us to keep our streets and communities well lit and I hope they find the stickers a useful reminder of how to report streetlighting faults."
If you notice a fault with a streetlight, please contact Hull City Council to organise a repair. We will need an accurate description of the location, including:
the street name
nearby house number or shop name
the streetlight column number. (Streetlights usually have a column number, this may be painted on. If you can provide this number, it will help us to locate the faulty light quickly)
