A Hull man has been identified for stealing CCTV cameras at Torpoint Drive flats on 19 June 2011 and 15 October 2011.
Hull City Council and Humberside Police worked together to identify and charge the individual.
Andrew Robert Mackay, from Torpoint Drive attended Magistrates Court on 10 April and received a community order, 50 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £396 in compensation. A Notice of Seeking Possession was also served on 7 March by Hull City Council to begin tenancy enforcement.
CCTV camera stills were used to create a poster and the image was advertised in Hull Daily Mail and as a result the male was identified and charged.
Justine Mortimer, Neighbourhood Nuisance Manager, said:
"I hope this is a strong message that neighbourhood nuisance and criminal damage will not be tolerated and all partners will work together to tackle those who carryout this activity."
