Press Releases In Education And Learning

IT's never too late for a little learning at Hull Adult Education - 09/05/2012
Hull City Council's Adult Education is offering a range of IT courses from May to July as part of National Adult Learners' Week that takes place 12 - 18 May.

Did you know computer skills are required in over 72 per cent of jobs?*

Courses range from Introduction to computers, using the internet for searching/emails, spreadsheets for home and small businesses and Microsoft Word. Four week free courses are also available to those who are currently unemployed to help them look for and apply for jobs.

Jacky Jordan, Lead Manager for Further Education, said:
"The National Adult Learners' Week highlights the many different ways for people to learn and we want people to join us on a course and enjoy learning. It can change people's lives as they will learn and develop new skills."

To support the public in developing their skills, a range of courses are available through adult education at their local centres and other venues set within the community such as libraries. Those who want to learn are given a free assessment to ensure they are placed on a course to meet their individual needs, level and ability.

A number of courses through Adult Education are also accredited which are highly recognised and valued by employers. Some of these courses are ongoing so people can join them at any time.
