Hull City Council has announced a review of senior management structures.
A 30-day consultation process with affected senior managers has been launched today.
The Chief Executive has started consultation at meetings today with Corporate Directors and Heads of Service. Assistant Heads of Service have also been informed.
Nicola Yates, Chief Executive said,
"We need to be preparing for the challenges of the future. We recognise coming changes in the way local services work, with the introduction of Police Commissioners in November and the movement of Public Health Services to councils next year.
"We have been very careful to take account of the wishes of members, and of course the ongoing expectation our customers have that we find efficiencies wherever we can."
Cllr Steve Brady, Leader of the City Council said,
"We have been working with the Chief Executive to find a modern local government structure which works for our customers and partners, while finding the savings we need to invest in services for the most vulnerable in our communities. Nothing is decided but this consultation is a signal of our intention to behave efficiently and effectively".
