The planned Humber Icelandic inward trade mission in May has been postponed until later this year.
The Icelandic president, who was due to attend the event from May 8 to 11, is now unable to attend because of election commitments. While some businesses who would like to take part in the trade mission to strengthen trading links between the two regions are tied up with a European Seafood Exposition in the run up to the planned mission in May.
However, the unveiling of the new Voyage statue will still go ahead as the Icelandic Ambassador Benedikt Jonsson has stepped in to reveal the replacement on May 11 at 11.30.
A delegation of Icelandic owned businesses and local businesses will also attend a business lunch on that date, ahead of attending the trade mission later in the year.
