Repairs and maintenance change for customers - 29/03/2012
Hull City Council's new contract for housing repairs and maintenance will begin on 1 April 2012 meaning council tenants in the Park, Riverside, West and Wyke areas will have a different company working in and around their homes.
Council housing maintenance works have been carried out in those areas by Kier and by Kingstown Works Ltd (KWL) in the rest of the city.
Now KWL will carry out repairs and maintenance to all council homes after being awarded the new contract in September 2011.
The Council has worked in partnership with KWL and Kier on a comprehensive handover to ensure we deliver an efficient service for all our customers and aim to minimise disruption during this changeover period.
All customers do not need to do anything different and should continue to report all repairs via 300300 or by visiting one of the Customer Service Centres or Information Points.
Pauline Davis, Hull City Council's Director for Regeneration, said:
"The Council would like to take this opportunity to thank Kier for their work in the city over the last five years. We have learned from earlier changes in the repairs and maintenance contracts so together with Kier and KWL we have worked to make sure there is the minimum of disruption for customers on the transfer of works.
"We would like to thank Kier and KWL for their work on this."
