Committee welcomes first sight of significant plannning application - 20/12/2011
Planning committee has welcomed the arrival of the planning application from ABP/Siemens for the Alexandra Dock site.
Councillor Sean Chaytor, Chair of the planning commitee, said:
"The Planning Committee have been following developments on the ABP/Siemens proposals for Greenport Hull very closely throughout 2011 and are pleased to see the applications have now been submitted."
The City Planning Manager Alex Codd said: "These five applications are the most significant the city has received this century. They run to 3990 pages, and we have a duty to follow the necessary consultation process. There is a statutory requirement to undertake public consultation for 28 days, following this there will be significant analysis undertaken prior to arriving at a recommendation to committee."
The Council recognise there will be a lot of public support for the scheme and probably some objections and would encourage all those with a view on the proposal to write to the planning department. These comments will then be considered by committee when the applications are ultimately determined in 2012.
