Victim Support to receive cheque from former Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund - 22/09/2008
The former Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Councillor Brenda Petch, will be making her Charity Appeal cheque presentation this week.
During her time as Lord Mayor, Councillor Petch had chosen to raise money through the Charity Appeal Fund for Victim Support. From Councillor Petch's period in office from 24 May 2007 to 21 May 2008, a total of £20,889.65 was raised by Councillor Petch and the Charity Appeal Committee to be donated to this worthy cause.
Councillor Petch was delighted with the money raised during her time as Lord Mayor. She said: "Victim Support is a very deserving cause as it helps people who have been affected by crime.
"I would like to thank everyone who helped to raise money for the Charity Appeal during my time as Lord Mayor. I hope that this money will go some way to continue to make a difference to people who need help from Victim Support."
Councillor Petch will be making her cheque presentation to Victim Support at their office on Hedon Road on Wednesday 24 September.
