If you are a voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisation and want to rent, lease or buy premises from Hull City Council for community use, please read our guidance about doing this which is available to download below.
The guidance is to help you think through the implications and responsibilities involved before making a decision, such as management, financial and legal issues and responsibilities.
To apply for a premise you will first need to complete an expression of interest form, which is available at the end of the guidance document available to download below.

The expression of interest form is the first stage in the process and will provide a basic overview of your organisation’s requirements.
Once you have returned the form, it will be forwarded to NBF. NBF will contact you to conduct a ‘health check’ to assist with the council’s decision-making process for allocating suitable property to your organisation. The expression of interest form will also allow us to search for a property against your needs.
The information you provide in the expression of interest form and the ‘health check’ will provide the basis for the full application form, which is also at the end of the pack available to download above.
Community asset transfer strategy
We have a community asset transfer strategy, which aims to ensure there is an open and transparent process for allocating property to VCS organisations and that these organisations are ‘health checked’ to determine their sustainability.
