Listen to the Hull City Council website with BrowseAloud

Visitors to the Hull City Council website may listen to the content by using BrowseAloud. BrowseAloud is a free tool which is used to speech enable a website. It may assist the following -

BrowseAloud Plus

BrowseAloud Plus is free and you don't need to download anything - simply select the green button on the image below. BrowseAloud Plus works on PC, Mac and mobile devices (including smartphones and tablets).

BrowseAloud Plus delivers high quality speech to help those with dyslexia, literacy difficulties, mild visual impairments and where English is a second language when browsing the web. Its features and options are accessed from an easy to use, floating toolbar. They include -

  • play by 'Hover highlighting'
  • play by 'Text selection'
  • pause
  • stop
  • power on/off

BrowseAloud (PC)

BrowseAloud (PC) requires a 13Mb download. Once downloaded, you will be able to use BrowseAloud on any enabled website. It offers a comprehensive list of features and funtions, including -

  • dual-colour highlighting of text

  • talking dictionary
  • talking translator
  • screen mask
  • MP3 maker
  • reads secure web pages

Using BrowseAloud (PC)
