Classes across the city

Below are timetables showing our fitness classes and sessions at our leisure facilities across the city.


Albert Avenue Pools

Tone up
Tone up is an aerobic-style class using small weights and exercises. It helps to shape and tone muscles as well as burn calories.

Pilates
Pilates is an exercise programme that improves core strength, flexibility and awareness. It aims to produce body balance.

Abs blast
Does exactly what it says - blasts your abs for the perfect six pack.

Aqua shape up
A fun water-based aerobic workout to music. Your instructor will lead you through low impact, calorie burning, cardio vascular exercises which will tone and strengthen muscles and make your heart and lungs stronger.

Great for weight loss, the water provides buoyancy and support. This means you can work harder for longer and it’s great for those who are pre/post natal or with joint problems or injuries.

Referral classes
This is the ideal way to get back into physical activity. This is a progressive system which introduces you to exercise. It gives you the fitness, skills and confidence to move into mainstream activities. For further details please contact one of the leisure facilities.

Body blitz
A full body cardio and resistance workout which targets all the muscles using simple exercises. It will leave you feeling raring to go.

Circuit
A multi-stationed strength and cardio vascular exercise class which uses equipment and your own body weight to push, lift, run, skip, squat, hop and burn your way to a whole body workout. Ideal for everyone from beginners to advanced.

Bodycombat
This energetic cardio workout program is inspired by martial arts such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.

Mature tone up
The same as our standard tone up classes but to a lower intensity to suit the needs of the older client or those just starting out in physical activity.

Indoor cycling
The indoor cycling workout involves riding to music. Your instructor will lead you through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials, and interval training. Whatever your ability, this class will help you burn the most calories.

Leg / bums / tums
The aerobic workout that targets the key areas for development.

Studio resistance
Using weights to specific areas covering the whole body in this resistance based workout. Moe muscle less based less heart and lungs.

Step and box
The cardio workout of a step aerobics class with the toning elements of boxing mixed in to this highly energetic class.
