How to use your black bin

From Monday 13 May, your black bin will be emptied every two weeks.

Now that you can recycle more, the amount of waste left over should be much less -

• please don’t put any of the materials in the black bin that can be recycled using your blue or brown bin
• please put all waste inside the bin. Your bin lid should be closed flat
• please do not put waste at the side of the bin. It will not be taken

Collections

Your black bin is emptied every two weeks. Please put your bin out by 7am at the boundary of your property and return it as soon as you can after it’s been emptied. We empty bins between 7am and 4.30pm.

Assisted collections

If you need help moving your bin, we can give you an assisted collection. Please call 01482 300 300.

Replacement or additional bins

If you need a replacement black bin, please email info@hullcc.gov.uk or call 01482 300 300. There is a replacement charge of £29.62. 

If you have a family of six or more, you can request an extra bin.
