Clued up on emergency planning

We can’t always stop emergencies from happening, like the floods of 2007, but we can plan ahead so we know what to do if they do happen.

How we plan for emergencies

Your local council works with the emergency services (fire, ambulance and police) to get ready for unexpected events. They have plans ready in case an emergency happens.

If an emergency happens, the emergency services first try to protect people and property and then to help people get back to normal as quickly as possible.
