There are services in Hull that offer free, friendly, non-judgmental, confidential advice and support for young people, including those under 16.  Find out here who you can talk to.

The Teenage Pregnancy Support Service drop-in session

The drop-in sessions take place every Tuesday at Conifer House. You can drop in at any time between 10:00-4:30pm to see an advisor or attend the antenatal session for pregnant teenagers and dads-to-be (at 1.30pm).

Who can you see at TPSS

Teenage Pregnancy Advisors are available for information and advice on things such as relationships, education, employment, money, benefits and housing. You can also meet:

The health visitor, offering support on things like baby’s minor illnesses or checking the baby's weight (10.30am-12.30pm)

The midwife offers one-to-one pregnancy health checks (1.30-3.30pm)

A sexual health nurse is at the drop-in once a month

Connexions advisors come to the drop-in regularly to help teenage mums and dads get back into education, work or training

Advisors who help new mums and dads with baby first aid, dealing with sleep problems and managing children's behaviour (11.30am).

Is it important I go to antenatal sessions? hyperlink

It is really important to look after yourself during your pregnancy. Going to antenatal sessions can help you and your baby stay healthy. The sessions cover all kinds of things like pain relief in labour and healthy pregnancies. You can bring your parents and friends along too.

BUMPS antenatal sessions  

Weekly friendly antenatal sessions every Tuesday from 1.30pm at Conifer House for teenage mums-to-be, dads-to-be, couples and birthing partners. Come along and meet other mums and dads-to-be:

  • What’s in a bump?
  • What can dads-to-be do to help?
  • What can birth partners do to help?
  • Getting ready for birth
  • Early days after birth
  • Confidential health checks with a TPSS midwife e.g. listen to baby’s heart beat

Child Health Sessions  

Sessions for teenage mums, dads, partners and their children on Tuesdays 10:30-12:30pm covering:

  • Have your child weighed and measured
  • How your child grows, learns and plays
  • Share tips on feeding, weaning etc.
  • Paternity rights advice
  • Managing crying, sleep and other behaviours
  • Child health worries such as colic, babies first aid etc.
  • Contraception
  • Weekly friendly sessions with the TPSS health visitor.
