What do you think are the local issues in Hull?
Adults love talking about, and sometimes having a moan about, local issues. These are things that affect the place you live in.
Here are some of the things in Hull that children, young people and adults are talking about. What do you think??
“There’s not enough places for us to play.”
Some people think that there aren't enough places in Hull to play or things to do.
Hull City Council is building more playgrounds and putting on more out of school and holiday activities. They’re trying to make the roads safer by putting in road humps and slowing cars down and cleaning up parks.
“I wish we could make bullying stop”
Bullying needs to be stopped. It is wrong and shouldn’t happen. How is your school stopping bullying?
Hull City Council has a team of people to work with schools to help them stop bullying. Call 0800 9154545 for more details.
“I’m worried Hull might get flooded again”
The flooding in Summer 2007 was a big issue for Hull - were you affected?
Lots of organisations are now working hard to repair the damage. It might not be possible to stop flooding completely but people are now trying to make sure it doesn't happen as badly again.
How can you get involved?
If you’re aged 11 or over you can find out how to get involved with Hull Youth Council and try to help change things that matter to you. Ring (01482) 585297 or send an email to hullyouthcouncil@hullcc.gov.uk to find out which is the nearest Youth Forum to where you live and how to get involved.
