Homework

“Urrrghhhh homework is such a pain. Sometimes I’m really tired when I get home from school and I just want to watch tv or play. But if I wait till after tea I’m even more sleepy and that makes it worse. It’s always a rush to get it done before school starts.”

Jamie, 9

Homework matters

Homework is a good way to think about and practice what you’ve learnt in school. Doing your homework on time means you can show your teacher that you can work on your own.

If you’re finding your homework hard talk to a teacher or an adult you trust. Find out if your school runs an after school homework club.

Hull Libraries offer free internet access to all children. Have a look at the Hull Libraries website to find out about libraries near where you live. Each library has computers that can be used to write up your work and you don’t have to pay!! How ace is that????!!!

Homework help

Libraries are a great place to find help with your homework. We have books on every topic and some reference books such as encyclopaedias.

You can also use the online version of Britannica Junior for 5 - 11 year olds and Britannica Student for 12 - 18 year olds. These services are available for free, 24 hours a day from home, or from any library computer during normal opening hours. Just log onto the Hull City Council website all you need is your library membership number and PIN.
