Success for cycling scheme

Hull's cycling scheme in East Park has won the first BBC Power of Sport award in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire for opening up opportunities for disabled children and young people to get cycling.

Specially adapted cycles are provided for children and young people with disabilities who may never have had the chance to ride a bike before.

The project, run by Simon Berry from KIDS, on behalf of Hull City Council, was developed after pupils from Frederick Holmes Special School told of the need for a cycling scheme for disabled children and young people in the city.
