Youth arts
Hull City Arts works in partnership with the Youth Development Service to deliver a wide range of arts activity from drama, music to dance. Young people can get involved by taking part in workshops, performing, receiving accreditation or by having a say in what is delivered. All sessions are generally for 13-19 years unless otherwise stated and are mega cheap (less than 50p) or free.
Creative Voice platform events
Creative Voice gives young people the chance to perform in music, drama or dance and is organised in partnership with Creative Connexions and BBC Blast. You can get involved by either joining an existing arts group or by contacting the youthartscore@hullcc.gov.uk .
These events are an opportunity to show off the talent of Hull’s young people!

Youth Theatre Platform – June (part of Humber Mouth Literature Festival)

Arts award
If you’re aged 11 to 25 you can work towards a qualification by taking part in the arts and working as artists and arts leaders.
You can do this at school, youth centre, arts organisation or youth arts project, wherever there is a trained advisor based. Look on www.artsaward.org.uk to find out where you can do it in Hull.
Youth theatre
If you’re interested in theatre and drama you can work with Hull City Arts on workshops from drama to set design. Some of these even involve national theatre companies. Have a go at performing and even running workshops.
Peer Mentor Youth Theatre is for over 16s who want to develop skill levels as a performer. Learn how to run drama workshops and achieve an arts award with Hull Truck’s Education Department, 80 Beverley Road.
Youth arts core
Young people, 16 and over, are invited to have a voice and get involved in youth arts development. This could involve helping to organise Creative Voice; taking part and running creative workshops; consulting other young people about youth arts entitlement; visiting other youth arts projects to ask other young people for their opinions; working towards an arts award.
Previous activities have involved young people making a radio show with RadioActive; introducing young people’s acts at events and making a film to promote youth arts activity.
If you want to get involved email youthartscore@hullcc.gov.uk or look on the What’s On guide for the Peer Mentor Youth Theatre and Switched-On multi media sessions.
