“When I had to pick my options for Year 10 I really wanted someone to tell me what each subject would be like and what I could use it for in the future. So I spoke to my teacher and he talked me through it all. It helped loads!”

Which subjects do I have to take in Year 10 and 11?
Certain subjects must be taken in Year 10 and 11. These are English, ICT, Maths and Science. Some schools have other compulsory subjects – check with your teacher.
You can also choose subjects that are optional. Find out from your school what’s on offer.
Check out the GCSE choices section of this site for advice on choosing your options.
Where can I find help with different subjects?
Remember, not to worry if you give the wrong answer to a question. If we were right all the time we'd never learn anything new. It's much better to have a go and be wrong than not try at all!
If you’re finding it hard to understand something at school or want to go through example questions speak to your teacher or ask an adult you trust to help you. There are websites you can use too. Ask your teacher if they can recommend any.
Here are some websites to have a look at.
