More information and register

Hull has a strong and active voluntary and community sector (VCS), which we are committed to supporting.

We recognise and appreciate the diversity of this sector, and the contribution it makes to the city. We acknowledge the crucial role of the voluntary and community sector in the delivery services that benefit local residents.

To support and develop a strong and positive relationship the council supports the sector through the following -

  • The Compact - The Compact is an agreement between the government and the VCS. It is designed to develop a positive and meaningful relationship between the public and voluntary and community sectors. On a local level it provides a framework for effective partnership working The National Compact.

  • Premises for community use - There is an open and fair process for the allocation of concessionary lettings to the VCS which aims to maximise the use of public sector buildings for the benefit of local communities.

  • Infrastructure support - The council has commissioned North Bank Forum (NBF) to provide support to voluntary and community sector organisations within the city.
