We would like to invite you to join our family of voluntary and community sector groups and organisations.
This will help us to seek your views on key changes and issues that may affect you as well as keeping you updated on areas of interest such as funding opportunities.
Hull has a strong and active voluntary and community sector (VCS), which we are committed to supporting.
We recognise and appreciate the diversity of this sector, and the contribution it makes to the city. We acknowledge the crucial role of the voluntary and community sector in the delivery services that benefit local residents.
To support and develop a strong and positive relationship the council supports the sector through the following -
The Compact - The Compact is an agreement between the government and the VCS. It is designed to develop a positive and meaningful relationship between the public and voluntary and community sectors. On a local level it provides a framework for effective partnership working The National Compact.
Premises for community use - There is an open and fair process for the allocation of concessionary lettings to the VCS which aims to maximise the use of public sector buildings for the benefit of local communities.
Infrastructure support - The council has commissioned North Bank Forum (NBF) to provide support to voluntary and community sector organisations within the city.
The council recognises the numerous benefits volunteering can bring to both individuals and organisations they support.
Volunteers support the council through a diverse range of services. If you are interested in volunteering for the council please contact us on 01482 300 300 or email volunteering@hullcc.gov.uk
