Hull City Council Website Consultation

We would like your views on our website. Please tell us how you use it, such as what information and services you access through it.

While you are completing the survey you will also be given the opportunity to tell us a bit about yourself. We would also like to know if you'd be interested in taking part in further consultations about our website.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. If you select 'Take the survey now', the survey will open in a new minimised window (a 'pop under') in your task bar.

We recommend that you choose to complete survey at the end of your visit as it asks questions about your experience of our website, but you can complete it at any time during your visit.

Potholes

We employ a number of highway inspectors who regularly check all adopted roads and footpaths for defects including potholes.

Report a pothole or highway defect

To report a pothole or highway defect contact us on 01482 300 300. We will ask -

  • for a description of the pothole or defect
  • its location

You can also report a pothole online using the form below -

What happens next

We will inspect any problem within 24 hours of the time you report it to us and decide whether we can or should repair it. Any repairs will be carried out within two hours to three months, depending on the type of defect.

If you want us to tell you what we decide to do, let us know when you first contact us.

Adopted roads

An adopted road is a road that is maintained through public money, for example by the council. Some roads are owned privately, and it is the owner's responsibility to take care of them. If you report a pothole and we find out it is on a private road, we will try to contact the owner to report the problem.

We do not inspect the A63/A1033 trunk road (Clive Sullivan Way, Castle Street, Garrison Road and Hedon Road) as these are currently operated by the Highways Agency and their consultants on behalf of the Department of Transport.
