Traffic calming

Traffic calming is usually introduced as part of a local safety scheme or outside schools in an attempt to reduce injury accidents or vehicle speeds. Traffic calming is often part of a 20mph speed limit zone and can in some cases include traffic calming measures such as speed humps or cushions.

To request traffic calming in your area you should write to us, telling us where the investigations should be carried out.

If you have a problem with an existing speed limit or would like some advice please contact us with details of your problem.
