Hull city archives
Hull city archives has now reopened in its new home, Hull History Centre. With free entry, Hull History Centre houses archives and local studies resources from the council and University of Hull.
Archives hold a wealth of information, covering the rich and varied fortunes of the city, dating from the 13th century to the present day. Our extensive collections include the archives of the city council and its predecessors, local businesses and societies, non-conformist churches, schools, local families, municipal cemeteries and records of the courts. Please see our source guides for more information.
It is now possible to search archive lists from both our archives and local studies library collections, and books from the local studies library via our online catalogue. Work on this database is ongoing and new entries will appear on a regular basis. At the moment there are over 75,000 records available, including the Winfred Holtby collection (WH) and crew lists of trawlers 1884-1914 (DPF).
