Several sporting events take place each year in Hull. Some of our regular sporting events are the Race for Life and Sports Relief. Hull City Council runs a network of sport and leisure centres and is also responsible for support facilities in the city's parks. We also work hard to develop and to promote involvement in sports, to improve the health, well-being and general quality of life for local people, including swimming lessons for both the young and old.
We also believe that sport can play a valuable role in tackling any of the social issues and challenges in the city.

Sport facilities in Hull
Hull Arena - an Olympic-size ice rink, with fully licensed bar and cafeteria, is not only a great day out and home to the Hull Stingrays ice hockey team, but is also the venue for many rock concerts. Past performers who have turned up the heat at this unusual venue include Oasis, Paul Weller and the Stereophonics.
The Kingston Communications Stadium (link opens in new window) - Hull’s fantastic award-winning £43 million, 25,000 seater sports, leisure and learning facility is home to Hull City Football Club (link opens in new window) - ‘The Tigers’ - and Hull FC (link opens in new window) rugby league club - ‘The Airlie Birds’.
Hull City regularly draw crowds of 20,000 plus, whilst the stadium is regularly filled to capacity when host to major gigs. Crowd-pullers have included Elton John, Bryan Adams and US supergroup REM.
Craven Park - as a city, we are famous for having two outstanding rugby league teams, and Craven Park is home to Hull Kingston Rovers, (link opens in new window) our very own Robins!
Fast Track Karting - if you would rather be part of the action, the region’s premier karting circuit is the place to be. The purpose built circuit has been designed by professional racing drivers to provide the ultimate challenge. The circuit boasts a hospitality suite and café and spectators will enjoy the action as much as the drivers themselves!
The Boulevard - racing at a slightly slower pace, but just as exciting, can be found every Friday and Saturday night, when Hull Greyhound Racing club hold their meets at the former home of Hull FC.
Adventure sports are also catered for in the city. Scale the heights at Rock City, (link opens in new window) one of the UK’s top indoor climbing centres or experience a highly exhilarating speedboat ride across the River Humber with the crew at Humber Parasailing (link opens in new window).
A variety of trips are available, including "blasts" up to the Humber Bridge or down to the super ferry. For those who are brave enough why not try parasailing 200 feet above the River Humber and enjoy spectacular views of the city, The Deep, The Humber Bridge and surrounding countryside. Exclusive "wildlife spotting" trips to South Ferriby are also available for those looking for a unique view of the Humber wildlife.
