Bullying can take many forms and can affect all kinds of people. Both adults and young people can be bullies and bullied, and it is harmful to everyone involved.
If you are being bullied, the first thing you should do is tell someone about it - your teacher, friends or parents.

If your child is being bullied there are lots of things you can do to help them.
Help for parents of children who are being bullied
Anti-bullying Co-ordinator Hull City Council has an Anti-bullying Co-ordinator who works with parents, schools and local and national agencies to tackle the problem of bullying.
The Anti-bullying Co-ordinator helps schools and the council in general to create anti-bullying policies and practices. They also give practical help in individual complex cases.
The Anti-bullying Co-ordinator:
- helps schools to develop good practice in promoting positive relationships between pupils
- works with schools and other agencies to develop anti-bullying policies. They will also highlight and accredit good practice
- supports schools, parents/carers with individual complex cases
- enables schools and other agencies to create guidance
They also aim to improve anti-bullying practices by:
- gathering information on referrals in Hull and evaluating the outcomes
- monitoring referrals by ethnicity
- comparing practices and policies with similar posts in other authorities
