 | Community funding and grants
Hull has a strong and active voluntary and community sector, which we are committed to supporting.
We recognise and appreciate the diversity of this sector, and the contribution it makes to the city. And we acknowledge the crucial role of the voluntary and community sectors in the delivery of modern public services.

Fundraising Standards Board
The Fundraising Standards Board (link opens in a new window) handles public complaints about how members’ raise money as well as offering the public a ‘mark of reassurance’ to look for when giving to charities in the future.
Over 60 local charities have already joined the voluntary scheme and, in doing so, have agree to adhere to a strict set of codes and a Fundraising Promise. This means they are committed to treating the public with respect, fairness, honesty and clarity in all their money raising activities. They must also sign up to an independent, robust and transparent complaints process. Membership will be visible to the public through the addition of the logo (a tick) on their fundraising materials.

Find my area team
You can send your application to up to three area teams. You might want to do this if your initiative covers more than one area. If your initiative covers more than three areas, your application would not be eligible as we wouldn’t consider it to be a local initiative.
Ward councillors will consider your application, and the area committee will make the final decision.
Different areas have different priorities – you should include how your initiative contributes to these priorities in your application.
