Join up for the summer reading challenge, 'Spacehop' and receive your own special membership card. Read six books over the summer and not only can you collect a whole range of extra gifts along the way including stickers and wristbands, you will also be entered into a prize draw to win an iPod Touch.

The Spacehop challenge which starts on Saturday 24 July, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing.  It runs through to Saturday 18 September - although we can be flexible with the date to allow you extra time to complete the challenge.

On completing the challenge, you also receive a medal and a certificate presented at your local library or school.

Throughout summer, our local libraries will be running free activity and craft sessions based on the theme of the Summer Reading Challenge.

Find out the dates and venues for the free activity and craft sessions in the libraries on our events diary

There are also lots of other fun activities across Hull this summer for you and your children, including soccer skills, kart driving lessons and museum activities.

How to join the summer reading challenge
