Counselling for young people

Counselling can help people to understand their thoughts and feelings. If you are, or know of, a young person who is going through a difficult time, or needs someone to talk to, there are counselling sessions available at our Young People's Support Service.

Anything you say to a professional counsellor is confidential. This means they won't share your information with anyone else without your permission, unless you or another person is at risk from harm. They won't look down on you or tell you what to do, but they will treat you with respect and try to help you.

Young People's Support Service (YPSS)
We provide a safe and private space for young people aged 13-25 to talk about any worries or problems they may have. The counsellor will listen to and support people and let them explore their issues and feelings.

The counsellors are not there to judge, tell young people what to do, or give unwelcome advice. The counselling aims to help young people help themselves and enable them to manage and cope with their problems.
