River Hull – Old Harbour
The River Hull, or Old Harbour as it is often referred to, runs north to south through the city of Kingston upon Hull and although it's a commercial river, with no moorings for leisure craft, it provide the vital link between Beverley and the River Humber.
Many craft are berthed in and around Beverley and all must pass through the city, and negotiate 10 movable bridges and a tidal range of between three and seven metres, to reach the Humber.
A harbour master is on duty from three hours before high water (HW) Hull (Albert Dock) until HW or later if required, except Sundays.
Air drafts must be reduced wherever possible to allow passage under the bridges to minimise road traffic hold ups particularly at peak times and delays must be expected by craft at these times.
Contact us
Craft intending to navigate the River Hull should contact the harbour masters' office at least 24 hours prior to any passage to discuss dimensions, timing, insurance and safety issues.

VHF contact on channel 22 is required throughout any transit: call sign "Drypool Radio". A mobile phone contact number is also useful but does not relieve craft from the obligatory VHF requirement.
In the event that the harbour master is unavailable then the bridge operations team can be contacted during office hours on (01482) 612 418.
