Crematoria and cremations

Bereavement services will provide -

  • advice and assistance to all families prior and or after a funeral
  • provide advice and information on relevant legislation
  • the provision of information on forthcoming funerals
  • provide advice and information on what happens during the cremation process. Many myths exist and people worry unduly, bereavement services staff can provide answers to ease those worries. An appointment can also be made for people to visit the crematorium and be shown how things happen
  • a service is also provided which allows the immediate family of the deceased to view the committal of the coffin into the cremator after the service
  • appointments can be made for families for families and friends to witness the scattering of cremated remains
  • assistance in sending or receiving remains from abroad
